I am currently working on a project that requires xMatters to integration with Cisco Unified Communications Manager v8.5. This is not currently a version of CUCM with which xMatters is certified to integrate.
I was able to get xMatters SIP Device Engine to integrate with CUCM v8.5.
Resolution:
- CUCM v8.5 requires two usernames/passwords; a "Digest" username/password and an "Authentication" username/password
- xMatters only sends one username/password
- The client has their CUCM configured to synchronize with their Active Directory and these accounts are used for the "Authentication" credentials when a device registers itself.
- I had the client create an AD account with the username the same as the DN number of the xMatters SIP Device Engine and with the same password that is configured in CUCM for the Digest username (e.g. same username/password in AD and CUCM).
- This allowed the xMatters SIP Device Engine to successfully register with CUCM.
- Calls were now able to be placed by xMatters and responses received via voice devices.
